The Oregon MPH Faculty
The Oregon Master of Public Health (OMPH) Program is built on the collective experience and expertise of three partner institutions: Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), Oregon State University (OSU), and Portland State University (PSU). A collaborative program that began in 1994, the Oregon MPH Program serves the urban, rural and beach communities of Oregon and SW Washington.
Over 120 faculty support the Oregon MPH Program through teaching, advising, research, and active engagement of the community. Faculty members are active in a wide range of research topics. Faculty members come from many educational and professional backgrounds, such as nursing, medicine, public health, international health, public and private health systems management and CDC research, and all work in a collaborative culture that places foremost value on the training and education of future public health leaders and practitioners. Faculty members actively participate in their professional associations, with regular presentations of research at APHA and other national conferences.
Students have opportunities to work closely with faculty on research, governance committees, annual planning of a student research symposium, new student orientation, and project teams that work on diversity, field placements, and workforce development.
The Deans Oversight Council of the Oregon Master of Public Health Program gives annual awards to outstanding facult.
