Many scholarships are available through Portland State University's online scholarship application, ScholarX. Students only have to fill out
one application to be automatically be placed in all scholarship application pools for which they meet the selection criteria.
This includes the scholarships that are available within a major, college, and the entire university.
The graduate application will become available October 19th and will close April 16th.
Alice S. Hersh Student Scholarship
Deadline: Nov. 15, 2009
Academy Health is now accepting applications for the Alice S. Hersh Student Scholarship, which will provide two free
registrations for the 2010 National Health Policy Conference (NHPC). The scholarship is designed to encourage professional
and educational development in health services research and policy among student members. Each scholarship recipient will
receive one complimentary registration to attend the 2010 NHPC, Feb. 8-9, in Washington, D.C.
Interested students must complete the application and submit a short essay outlining how attendance at the NHPC will
assist in their educational and professional pursuits in health services research and policy. Academy Health will grant
scholarships based on a review of the application and essay. Applicants must be current student members of Academy Health
and must be enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program at the time of application. For more information and to download the

NEHA/AAS Scholarship program

The purpose of the NEHA/AAS Scholarship program is to encourage early commitment by students to a career in
environmental health and to stimulate past and present graduates to pursue post-graduate studies in environmental health
sciences and/or public health. The program offers financial assistance to individuals with a demonstrable need, and serves
to introduce adequately trained professionals into the environmental health workforce.
