University of Oregon Health Center Health Educator/Nutritionist

University Health Center invites applications for a full time Health Educator/Nutritionist in the Health Promotion Department. The University Health Center is a progressive, accredited health center that provides comprehensive health promotion and primary care to 21,000 students at the University of Oregon.

This position provides independent evaluation, management, treatment, referral and nutrition education to students. Provide efforts in developing, implementing and evaluating campus-wide health education and promotion programs that take into account our National College Health Assessment, Healthy Campus 2020, and overall best practices in college health. Topics may include stress management, eating disorders, body image, alcohol, sexual health, healthy relationships, tobacco cessation, and other topics relevant to college students.

Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Exercise Science or related field; Registered Dietitian, Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population; Competent in presenting to groups. Two years experience providing health promotion services, outreach and nutrition education and counseling is preferred. Salary range $45,000 to $48,000. Twelve month appointment with excellent fringe benefits.

The Oregon Primary Care Association (OPCA) is a private, 501(c)(3)-membership organization of Oregon’s “safety-net” primary care providers. Our mission is to provide advocacy on public policy and technical assistance to members in order to help decrease health disparities and increase access to comprehensive health care for low income and vulnerable people in Oregon. Our membership primarily includes the federally qualified Community Health Centers (CHCs), Rural Health Clinics, Indian Health Centers, and community clinics with similar missions and governance.

The Health Care Data Specialist is OPCA’s point person on data and evaluation, as well as helping with office IT needs. Serves as a role model, mentor and resource for staff members. Also responsible for coordination of activities with external vendors, employer groups and other organizations that provide member care or services. Assures that medically necessary, cost-effective quality care is delivered according to program specifications.

Clinical Application Specialist
Our Community Health Information Network (OCHIN)

Provide clinically relevant technical support to internal and external stakeholders on clinical system applications and its usage Research and coordinate resolution of issues related to system application, perform EHR demonstrations, provide adult training, conduct analysis, conduct clinic workflow design sessions and identify reengineering opportunities and provide on-site support for EHR implementations. Configure and maintain technical applications as needed. Participate in testing and implementation of system upgrades. Help develop clinical content tools working collaboratively with our Clinical Oversight Group.Organize and conduct clinical system applications training for external stakeholders in small and large group settings. Support clinicians through transformational change in their beginning use of the Electronic Health Record. Provide optimization training and support for clinicians.

Preference will be given to individuals with knowledge of healthcare operations and EHR experience (preferably Epic Systems Applications). Health information systems, training, or documentation experience a plus. Some travel required.

Responsibilities: Expert in full range of OCHIN-implemented software; Develop and maintain training materials for external stakeholders; Potential for frequent episodic travel, primarily on the West Coast; Customer Service & Innovation; Work within a Team Environment.

Requirements: Minimum of 3+ years clinical or health information education/training required; 4 yrs clinical experience & 3 years operations experience in clinical setting preferred; Electronic Health Records and/or Practice Management experience required; Adult training and curriculum design preferred; Customer Service experience required; EpicCare and/or other Epic Application certification is desirable; Spanish bilingual is desirable; Computer systems, training, and/or documentation experience is desirable.
