OAIC Internship Opportunity-Posted 9/19/06
We are offering an opportunity to assist with an evaluation of a pilot project to implement immunization standing orders in an inpatient setting at two separate hospital sites. Standing orders are a proven best practice in public health for increasing immunization rates, however many hospitals are reluctant to implement them. The Oregon Adult Immunization Coalition launched this pilot project to help us understand the barriers and facilitators to institutionalizing standing orders in an inpatient setting.
We are in the midst of a multi-staged evaluation, one piece of which is the data collection and analyses from the two pilot sites. Currently we are seeking someone interested in abstracting chart data from two hospitals; entering, cleaning and managing the dataset; conducting basic analyses; and writing up the findings.
This is paid position, anticipated to take approximately 100-150 hours, between Fall 2006 and early Spring 2007. This would be a great opportunity for someone with the right analytic skills and research interest. The position would be located at the State Public Health Immunization Program, and we do have staff that could serve as student mentors, making this a great opportunity for a school-required internship.
If interested, please email a cover letter and resume to:
